Common Dyeing Equipment Processes and New Dyeing Techniques – Part 5

Common Dyeing Equipment Processes and New Dyeing Techniques – Part 5

Section 2 Staining Methods – part 1

According to the different ways in which dyes are applied to fabrics, there are mainly two methods for textile dyeing: dipping dyeing and padder dyeing.

Dipping method

It refers to a processing method where the dye is immersed in the dye solution, and in the relative motion between the dye solution and the dye, the dye is used to dye and fix the fibers by utilizing the direct effect of the dye on the fibers

Bath ratio: The ratio of the weight of the dye to the volume of the dye solution becomes the bath ratio

The bath ratio is related to the dyeing depth, uniformity, and dye utilization rate. A too small bath ratio can easily cause uneven dyeing; A large bath ratio wastes dyes and energy, and increases the burden of wastewater treatment.

Dyeing concentration: Generally expressed as a percentage of the weight of the dye relative to the weight of the fiber, i.e.%.

Calculation example:

Given that the dye is 50KG, the bath ratio is 1:20, and the dyeing concentration is 2%, calculate the amount of dye used and the volume of the dye solution prepared.

Dye weight: 50x2%=1KG

Volume of dye solution: 50x20=1000L

Main issues:

The temperature of the dyeing solution and the concentration of dyes and additives should be kept uniform and consistent throughout the dyeing process. Otherwise, it is easy to cause uneven dyeing. Therefore, the relative motion between the dye solution and the dye is crucial.

Features:

The impregnation equipment is simple, easy to operate, and suitable for intermittent production of small batches and multiple varieties, with low labor productivity. Widely used for dyeing loose fibers, yarns, knitted fabrics, thin and delicate fabrics, etc. Roll dyeing is also a form of immersion dyeing, with a small roll dyeing bath ratio and the advantage of a flat fabric surface.

AT278 Series High Temperature Jet Dyeing Machine from Anytester is used for high temperature and pressure sample dyeing of fabrics in rope form. It is suitable for small amount of fabric. It has low liquor ratio, small power consumption and fast running speed, ensuring good dyeing effect and quality, and also can directly use common production process. Click here to learn more
