Standards For Face Mask Particle Filtration Efficiency Tester

There are many standards for the PFE tester, In different country, their standards is different as well.

For USA

The related standards are Niosh42 CFR84 and ASTM F3502, Niosh42 CFR84 is the oldest standard for PFE tester in the world, it was published by National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health(short for NIOSH). ASTM F3502 is a new standard published in 2021. Both of them use the particle with size of 0.3um to test the face mask. Aerosol could be Nacl or Oil type.The most famous machine for this standard is TSI8130,  and it's price is high as well.

For China

In our country,  We use GB2626 as the testing standard, and it's testing method is similar with NIOSH42 CFR84. And the 

For Europe

Related standards are EN143 E149 E13274, In the European Standard,  For different earosol, the detector are different. For the aerosol of Nacl, the detector is Flame Photometer; For the aerosol of Oil, the detector is Dual Photometer. If customer need to perform the standard with both of Nacl and Oil type, then they need to buy two units of machine.

For AT902, We use dual photometers as particle detector, and it's testing result is more accurate than that of AT901.
